Auto-auctions.gr runs vehicle auctions in Greece. It uses the Autobid.de auction software, which has caused it to be mistaken for a national front end of the German operator — but the domestic sales are marked as run by Auto-auctions.gr itself, the stock is Greek, and prices carry Greek VAT at 24%.
What you can buy
- Ex-fleet and ex-lease passenger cars — compacts make up much of the volume.
- Small vans and light commercials.
- Off-road and utility vehicles.
- Electric vehicles, appearing in recent catalogues.
How the bidding works
Sales are online with published auction dates and a running catalogue showing power, first registration and mileage for each vehicle. The interface runs in Greek, English and German. Registration is required to bid, and starting prices on many lots are set deliberately low, which makes the opening figure a poor guide to the finishing one.
What to check before you bid
Prices are shown including 24% Greek VAT — check whether that is recoverable in your situation before comparing with a net-priced listing elsewhere. Vehicles are in Greece, which is a long transport leg from most of Europe and worth costing before bidding. First registration and mileage are given in the catalogue line; a condition report is not the same thing, so ask for one on anything you would not buy unseen.
