Switzerland runs its forced sales through cantonal offices rather than a single national portal. Each canton's debt-enforcement and bankruptcy office (Betreibungs- und Konkursamt) seizes and realises assets under federal law, and several cantons now publish and sell through shared online platforms instead of holding sales in a hall. Alongside them, private liquidators handle voluntary company closures and warehouse clearances, often working in cooperation with the same offices.

The stock reflects a services-heavy economy: office equipment and technology, workshop and hospitality fit-out, consumer goods and vehicles more often than heavy industrial plant. Bankruptcy realisations bring whole business inventories to market at short notice.

The complication for foreign buyers is the border. Switzerland is not in the EU customs union, so anything you buy and take out faces customs clearance and import VAT in the destination country — a detail that can outweigh the saving on a small lot. Assets sold by an enforcement office go without warranty, since the office is realising someone else's property rather than selling its own. Sale conditions, viewing and collection are set by the individual office or liquidator, and documentation is usually German, with French in the western cantons.
