biddr is the bidding infrastructure a large part of the European numismatic trade runs on. It is not an auction house: it carries other houses' sales, and on any given week the calendar mixes German, Polish, Italian, Czech, French and British numismatic firms alongside overseas ones, each with its own auction number and terms.
What you can buy
- Ancient coins — Greek, Roman and Byzantine.
- Medieval and modern European coinage, including Habsburg, Bohemian, German states and Polish issues.
- Banknotes.
- Orders, medals and badges.
- Related collectables — watches, jewellery and stamps in mixed sales.
How the bidding works
Each sale is a live bidding event with a stated window, run by the consigning house. You register once with biddr but are approved per house, and the buyer's premium is set by that house — the calendar shows it on the sale line, and it varies widely between firms.
What to check before you bid
The premium is per house and printed on the sale listing: 15% and 20% sit next to each other in the same week. Note the country of the selling house, because that decides where you pay, where the coin ships from and what import charges apply. Grading language differs between firms too, so a description from one house is not directly comparable with another's without reading how each grades.
