Auctions in Bulgaria

Bulgaria's auction supply comes almost entirely from enforcement. Private enforcement agents sell assets seized in debt recovery, and the national revenue agency disposes of property and goods taken for unpaid taxes. Both publish through central online portals, which makes the market easier to survey than its size would suggest.

Property is the largest category by value — apartments, houses, commercial units and land, sold at court-set starting prices that step down through successive rounds if a lot fails to sell. Vehicles, machinery and business equipment appear regularly from company enforcement cases.

For buyers outside Bulgaria the barriers are practical. Portals operate in Bulgarian, registration and deposits generally assume a Bulgarian bank account, and property transactions require a local notary. Most foreign participation runs through a Bulgarian lawyer or agent. Before bidding on property, establish whether the lot is occupied and what encumbrances survive the sale — the notice states them, but briefly, and they do not disappear with the hammer.
