eGant – Swiss debt-enforcement auctions
eGant is the joint auction platform of the Swiss debt-enforcement and bankruptcy offices (Betreibungs- und Konkursämter) of several cantons — Bern, Thurgau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Schaffhausen all publish here. These are the offices that seize and realise assets when a Swiss debt goes unpaid or a company fails, so the platform is an official state channel rather than a commercial auction house, and the goods on it are exactly what a bailiff has taken into custody.
What you can buy
- Office equipment and furniture: desks, fittings, office machines and stationery from wound-up businesses.
- Electronics and household goods: consumer electronics, domestic appliances and IT.
- Tools and workshop kit: electric hand machines, drilling and milling equipment.
- Vehicles and bicycles: cars and bikes seized in enforcement.
- Site equipment: containers and site huts.
- General goods: clothing, decoration and a broad "miscellaneous" category that reflects whatever the offices currently hold.
How the bidding works
Register and sign in to bid; lots show the current highest bid, the closing date and the number of bids received, and you can filter by the office group running the sale. The interface is available in German and French. Because each participating office lists independently, the catalogue is a rolling mix rather than a scheduled sale, and the office that published a lot is the one you deal with afterwards.
What to check before you bid
Assets sold by a Swiss enforcement office go as they stand and without warranty — the office is realising someone else's property, not selling its own stock, and has no obligation to guarantee condition or completeness. Viewing arrangements, payment deadlines and collection are set by the individual office, so read the lot notice rather than assuming a common house standard. Switzerland is outside the EU customs union, which matters if you plan to take goods across the border: expect customs formalities and import VAT in the destination country.
