Steinfels describes itself as Switzerland's oldest wine auction house, and its sales are numbered into the four hundreds. The range is the classic auction spread: Bordeaux crus classés, Burgundy, champagne, spirits and ready-to-drink wines from both the Old and New World.

How the bidding works
Each sale has a current-auction page and a live bidding entry point, with buying and selling documented separately. Registration is required. The house handles consignments as well as sales.
What to check before you bid
Switzerland is outside the EU customs union, which matters more for wine than for most goods: bringing bottles into the Union means duty, VAT and — depending on quantity — excise. Establish the shipping and clearing arrangements before bidding if you are not collecting in Switzerland. The site is in German and English.
