Bid STOCS — homepage

Bid STOCS is the consumer-facing auction arm of a British retail-returns business, and its pitch is a direct answer to what usually goes wrong in this market: unsorted pallets and fees bolted on at checkout. Here every lot is individually described and graded, and a few hundred lots are open for bidding at any time.

What you can buy

  • Retail returns from recognised brands and retailers.
  • Overstock and surplus stock.
  • Consumer electronics.
  • Household goods and appliances.
  • Clothing and general merchandise.

How the bidding works

Every lot opens at £2 with no reserve and closes on a timer. The stated model is that the hammer price is the price: no buyer's premium added at checkout. The operator offers a 14-day buyer protection period on wins, which is unusual for returns stock and is the practical difference from buying an ungraded pallet. A separate bulk channel handles pallet-scale trade buying.

What to check before you bid

Read the grade rather than the brand: returns are graded because condition varies from unopened to faulty, and the grade is what you are buying. No-reserve lots opening at £2 can finish anywhere, so set a limit that accounts for delivery from the Midlands. Goods dispatch from the UK, which for an EU buyer means import charges that the "no added fees" promise does not cover.
