Lots publish four things clearly: the starting bid, the date bidding opens, the end date, and — usefully — whether VAT applies and what the buyer's premium is, stated per lot rather than buried in terms. What to check before you bid

The per-lot VAT flag matters: on plant sold out of a VAT-registered business the tax is added to the hammer price, and on a five-figure digger that is not a rounding error.
