How the bidding works

Each sale is announced with three dates: a viewing day, a bidding open date, and a closing date with a staggered start time — lots begin closing from 9.30 or 11.00 in the morning and run on from there. Viewing is offered both virtually and physically, by appointment only, and is usually a single day about a week before the close. Registration is required to bid.

What to check before you bid

The single viewing day is the whole of your inspection window, and on an industrial clearance that is when you establish what dismantling a machine will actually involve. The company's conditions state it acts as principal in respect of goods offered, and sales are governed by English law. Removal deadlines on a factory clearance are set by the landlord, not the auctioneer, and they are not negotiable.
