Portal de Subastas del BOE
- Open to private buyers

The Portal de Subastas is Spain's single official channel for electronic public auctions, operated by the Agencia Estatal Boletín Oficial del Estado from Avenida de Manoteras 54 in Madrid. Sales reach it from courts, tax and social-security enforcement, notaries and public bodies, which means it is where Spanish repossessions, judicial sales and administrative disposals are legally advertised and bid on — not a commercial auction house competing for consignments. Everything runs through the portal itself rather than in a saleroom.
What you can buy
- Real estate (inmuebles): the largest section by far — flats, houses, garages, storage units, commercial premises and land, coming out of mortgage enforcement and insolvency.
- Vehicles (vehículos): cars, vans and occasional heavy vehicles seized in enforcement proceedings.
- Movable goods (bienes muebles): machinery, stock, equipment and other assets attached by a court or a public creditor.
- Specialist streams: separate listings for ORGA sales and for the Comisionado para el Mercado de Tabacos.
How the bidding works
You browse by province from a map — when we checked, Alicante had 54 open auctions, Murcia 45, Valencia 38, Madrid 37 and Barcelona 32, with almost every province carrying something. To bid you register on the portal and lodge a deposit (depósito) through one of the collaborating banks; the deposit is what qualifies you to bid, and it is returned afterwards if you do not win. Each auction publishes whether it has a minimum bid (puja mínima) and whether bids move in fixed steps (tramos), and shows both a valor de subasta and a valor de tasación — the auction reference figure and the appraised value, which are not the same number and are worth reading carefully.
What to check before you bid
The portal is the notice board and the bidding engine, but the underlying case belongs to the court or authority that opened it, and the conditions travel with the case rather than with the website. Read the specific auction's conditions before lodging money: property lots may be sold subject to existing tenants, charges or occupants, and the deposit rules differ depending on whether you make a reserva de postura. Recovering a deposit has its own procedure — the FAQ covers refunds after a failed bid, after being outbid, after a suspension by the managing authority, and the special case where you were the highest bidder but not the awardee. The interface and all documentation are Spanish-only, and there is a downloadable user manual worth reading before your first attempt.
