aukli.at

aukli.at runs online auctions across Austria, and its category list points at where the stock comes from. Kommunaltechnik — municipal equipment — sits at the top, alongside lifting and crane equipment, fire safety and workshop gear. That is the profile of a platform selling for councils, public bodies and businesses rather than for private consignors.

What you can buy

• Municipal equipment: the machinery and vehicles Austrian councils run.
• Cranes and lifting equipment: a category few general platforms carry.
• Workshop equipment and vehicles: garage kit, cars and accessories.
• Safety and fire protection: equipment from public services and businesses.
• Electronics, IT and office: hi-fi, lighting, office supplies.
• Tools, ladders and outdoor equipment: the practical end of the catalogue.

How the bidding works

Register and log in to bid; lots are searchable across all current auctions. Sales are nationwide rather than tied to one saleroom, so the collection address is what defines a lot's practicality — Austria is small but mountainous, and a lot in Vorarlberg is a long way from Vienna.

What to check before you bid

Municipal and public-service equipment is generally well maintained and documented, but it is specified for a job rather than for resale, and re-registering a vehicle that has lived on municipal plates is not automatic. Check operating hours as well as age on machinery, and confirm what documentation comes with the lot. The site is German-language.
