AURENA GmbH is an Austrian auction house based at Depotstraße 2 in Niklasdorf, Styria, registered in Leoben under FN 386364 h. Most of what it sells comes from insolvencies, business liquidations, deceased estates and clearance sales, which it handles as a bulk-liquidation service provider and breaks into individual lots; some sales are run on commission for the owner. It typically runs around 160 auctions at once, holding tens of thousands of lots. Sale locations span Styria, Upper and Lower Austria, Vienna, Burgenland, Tyrol and Carinthia, plus occasional auctions in Germany, Switzerland and Croatia.

What you can buy

• Retail and clothing stock: the biggest block by volume — sportswear and fashion from liquidated shops, including Adidas and Nike lots, plus footwear and accessories.
• Tools and workshop equipment: hand and power tools, workbenches, welding gear and compressors.
• Industrial and warehouse plant: forklifts, production machines, racking, cranes and lifting gear, and complete workshop fit-outs.
• Vehicles: cars, vans and motorcycles, occasional classics, e-bikes and bicycles.
• Construction, forestry and agriculture: site machinery, brush cutters, tractors and attachments.
• Catering and shop fittings: commercial kitchens, refrigeration, bar equipment and restaurant furniture.
• Odd single lots: solar panels, camera and lighting rigs, Mediterranean plants and olive trees, antiques and household clearances.

How the bidding works

Registration is open to both private individuals and businesses, and needs only an email address and a mobile number. Auctions are timed online sales: each lot shows a countdown, the required minimum increment (from €1 steps on cheap lots up to €5,000 steps above €500,000) and an optional bid robot that bids automatically up to your maximum; a bid in the final minute extends that lot by 60 seconds. You can also bid in person at the Niklasdorf headquarters, where you fill in a bidder card and have to show photo ID; reception is open Monday to Thursday 08:00–12:00 and 12:30–16:30 and Friday 08:00–12:00 and 12:30–15:00, and taking part in auctions outside those hours needs at least two days' notice. The invoice must be paid into AURENA's account before collection. Pickup location and date are stated on each lot; some auctions are shipping auctions instead, with delivery free to every EU country — but nothing is shipped outside the EU.

What to check before you bid

Every bid is a net figure. On top comes an 18% auction fee — 22% on lots sold under margin taxation — and then 20% Austrian VAT on hammer price and fee together, so a €100 bid becomes roughly €142. The gross total is shown before you confirm. Buyers outside the EU pay the VAT as a deposit and get it back only against export documents; EU businesses need a valid UID number to buy VAT-free. Lots are sold in the condition they are in on auction day and are neither tested nor cleaned first, so the viewing day matters. Because these are public auctions, there is no right of withdrawal under § 18 Abs 3 FAGG — that applies to private consumers too; business buyers on top of that accept that complaints and warranty are excluded, while consumers keep their statutory warranty. The site and catalogues are in German. Collection addresses vary by lot and can be hundreds of kilometres apart, so factor transport in; failing to turn up on the pickup date means dismantling, handling and storage charges on top.
