Öffentliche Bekanntmachung Versteigerungen (BvV) — homepage

German law requires certain auctions to be publicly announced, and this is where the announcements go. The site is run by the BvV — the professional association of publicly appointed, sworn and specially qualified auctioneers, based on Friedrichstraße in Berlin — and it exists to satisfy that publication requirement rather than to sell anything itself.

What you can buy

  • Household goods from storage and removal companies clearing unpaid lots.
  • Bicycles, sold in batches.
  • Jewellery and watches, from pawn and storage warehouses.
  • Porcelain and general saleroom stock.
  • Vehicles — the board has carried individual Ferraris alongside the everyday lots.

How the bidding works

Each entry is a notice: the auctioneer or warehouse, a lot reference and the date of the sale. Listings can be filtered by category and by location. Publishing a notice here is free for members, so the volume is modest — a couple of dozen live at a time — and it skews towards the statutory categories rather than commercial consignments.

What to check before you bid

The notice is a legal announcement, not a catalogue: it tells you a sale is happening and where, and you go to the auctioneer for the lot list and the terms. That is also the point of the board — a sale advertised here is being run by a publicly appointed and sworn auctioneer, which in Germany is a regulated status with duties attached. Everything is in German.
