Croatian customs seizes goods at the border and inland, and what is not destroyed is sold. This page is the disposal channel, and it is organised around the four regional customs offices — Zagreb, Osijek, Split and Rijeka — rather than as a single national catalogue.

How the bidding works

Two formats run here. The usual one is a javni poziv za prikupljanje pisanih ponuda — a public call for written offers, where you submit a sealed bid by a deadline rather than bidding live. Alongside it, customs also runs usmena javna dražba, an oral public auction held at the office. Which format applies is stated in the individual notice, and the two have different deadlines and different deposit rules.

What to check before you bid

Sealed-bid sales give you one shot: the offer you post is the offer that stands, so the valuation work has to happen before the deadline rather than during a live sale. Notices are in Croatian and published as documents on the office pages. Customs sells the goods as they are, and where the seizure concerned counterfeit or restricted goods those items are destroyed rather than offered — what reaches the sale list is the legitimate remainder.
