G3 has been running vehicle auctions in the UK for more than fourteen years and describes itself as one of the country's largest independent marketplaces for sourcing used vehicles. It runs two physical sites alongside the online platform: the flagship at Castleford, a purpose-built £12m centre opened in 2021 that handles over 50,000 vehicles a year across four sales a week, and a fourteen-acre site at Bedford with easy access to the M25 handling upwards of 30,000 a year.
What you can buy
- Used cars — the live search covered over 3,300 vehicles at the time of checking.
- Vans and light commercials.
- Electric and hybrid vehicles.
How the bidding works
Sales run physically at Castleford and Bedford with online bidding in parallel, so you can attend or bid remotely. Vehicles are graded, and search filters cover make, model, vehicle type and grade. The company was acquired by America's Auto Auction, which it announced as that group's entry into the global market.
What to check before you bid
Registration is explicitly a trade account — the site's own call to action is "register a trade account today", so this is a dealer channel rather than a route for private buyers. Grades are the platform's own assessment and worth understanding before bidding remotely on anything you have not seen. Buyer's fees and any indemnity charges are set out in the terms; the help pages carry guides for both buyers and sellers.
