Kronofogden Auktionstorget
- Open to private buyers

Auktionstorget is run by Kronofogden, the Swedish Enforcement Authority — the state body that recovers debts on behalf of creditors. When someone cannot pay, Kronofogden may seize property and sell it, and this marketplace is where that happens. It is the state selling directly rather than through an appointed auction house, which makes it one of the cleanest sources in the Swedish market: the seller is a public authority and the legal basis for the sale is a matter of record.
What you can buy
- Vehicles: cars, and the authority publishes its own guide on how to buy one.
- Property: houses, apartments and land seized in enforcement.
- Boats: a recurring Swedish category.
- Valuables and household goods: jewellery, watches and general goods taken into custody.
How the bidding works
Sales run on the authority's own platform, with published information about how the sales work and how to buy specific asset types. Because Kronofogden is a public body, the process is documented in detail — an unusual luxury in enforcement auctions, where most countries leave you to work it out from a notice.
What to check before you bid
An enforcement sale transfers whatever the debtor owned and no more. On property that means checking what rights, tenancies or charges survive, since the authority sells the debtor's position rather than a clean title. Assets are sold as they stand, and Kronofogden has no obligation to warrant condition — it is realising someone else's property. The site is Swedish, though the authority publishes some information in other languages.
Buyer's summary
| Who can bid | Open to buyers generally. Online sales require a customer registration in advance. |
|---|---|
| Registration | Register with the authority before bidding online. On-site sales take oral bids; some assets are sold by sealed tender (anbudsförsäljning). |
| Collection & shipping | Collect after payment. The collection period is stated in the individual advertisement; uncollected goods can be disposed of after a reminder, even once paid for. |
| Condition & returns | Everything is sold in its existing condition — "Vi säljer all egendom i befintligt skick" — and the buyer carries a far-reaching duty to inspect (långtgående undersökningsplikt). There is normally one viewing before the sale, and an enforcement sale transfers only what the debtor owned. |
| How lots close | A sale can be cancelled at short notice, in particular if the debtor settles the debt before it takes place. |
| Languages | Swedish; the authority publishes some guidance in other languages. |
