LSL does something different from most platforms in this directory: it does not run its own sales, it puts existing auction houses online. The product is live video streaming plus online bidding, so a buyer who cannot get to a mart or a saleroom can watch and bid as the auctioneer works.

How the bidding works

You pick a country — Ireland, the UK and Spain are the European ones, alongside South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Canada — then the auction, and bid as it runs. There is also a timed auction section for sales that do not need a live ring. The interface is available in a long list of languages.

What to check before you bid

The terms that bind you are the auction house's, not LSL's — the platform carries the sale but the mart or saleroom sets the conditions, the buyer's premium and the collection arrangements. For livestock bought remotely, the movement paperwork and haulage are entirely yours to organise before the animals can leave.
