Openbare Verkopen runs a high-throughput Belgian operation — around thirty auctions live at once, each tied to a specific address and closing on its own evening. The seller mix is broad: a carnival association in Aalst, the city of Ghent disposing of furniture, a textile machinery firm in Ledegem selling spare parts, a vintage and "mancave" collection in Ingelmunster.

How the bidding works

Every auction carries a number, a postcode, a lot count and a closing time — usually 19:00 CET. Sales are grouped as running, upcoming and finished, and an account gives you a personal overview of what you are bidding on. The site runs in Dutch, French and English.

What to check before you bid

The postcode on the auction is where you collect, and lot counts vary from four to over a hundred — a four-lot sale in Aalst and a 118-lot sale in Ingelmunster are different propositions for a single trip. Belgian clearance auctions are strict on collection days. Check the FAQ for buyer's costs before bidding.
