AuctionPort (BE0686.968.747) is a Belgian auction house selling industrial and logistics equipment online from its own site and warehouse in the 2030 port zone of Antwerp, close to the motorway. The port location shapes the stock: container-handling machines, internal transport and earthmoving kit that general auction sites rarely carry. Themed catalogues run from a few dozen to over 400 lots, mixing worn machines with near-new stock; many lots sit away from Antwerp at yards elsewhere in Belgium and in the Netherlands, so each lot carries its own collection address.

How the bidding works

Everything runs online; there is no live saleroom. Registration is open worldwide, privately (no VAT number) or as a business (with VAT number), and staff will register you by email if the form fails. Some sales are flagged professional-only: a private login is blocked with a note to sign in as a professional customer. Lot pages show opening and closing times, a starting bid and a fixed bid step that scales with value, from €5 on small tools to €2,000 on that reach stacker. You place a manual bid or a proxy bid that raises you automatically to a preset ceiling. Bids cannot be withdrawn. No deposit is taken: the highest bidder receives a pro forma invoice, pays by bank transfer within 24 hours, then gets the final invoice with collection instructions. Viewing is typically a one-hour slot on a single day by appointment, followed by one or two set pickup days; loading help is free.

What to check before you bid

Add 16% auction commission plus 21% VAT to every bid before judging value. EU companies registering a valid non-Belgian VAT number buy without VAT; Belgian companies pay it. Professional buyers outside the EU pay no VAT; non-EU private buyers are refunded once they supply proof the goods left the EU. The 24-hour payment deadline is tight for international transfers, so arrange funds first. Read the collection address on the lot itself rather than the sale heading, because a large share of lots lie at Dutch addresses. Collection is free on the scheduled day and ten days after by appointment; from day eleven, storage costs €10 per lot per day. EU delivery is quoted after payment; only Euro-pallet goods collected in Antwerp go by DHL. Listings give serial number, year, engine, hours and a one-line note on whether the machine runs, but nothing is warranted and five-figure hour counts are normal, so use the viewing slot or send an inspector. The site runs in fifteen languages, including English, Dutch, German and French.
