Klaravik — homepage

Klaravik AB is a Swedish online auction company for used machinery, tools and vehicles, based in Karlstad and owned by TBAuctions, the Dutch B2B auction group behind Troostwijk, Surplex and Vavato. Stock comes from Swedish contractors, farmers, workshops and private owners replacing or retiring equipment. A local Klaravik auctioneer visits the item, photographs and films it and writes the description before it goes online. The company runs a sister site in Denmark at klaravik.dk.

How the bidding works

Registration is free and both companies and private individuals may bid. Swedish residents verify with BankID; buyers from abroad have to open a company account that Klaravik's support team verifies manually - an EU company needs a valid VAT number, a non-EU one also a D-U-N-S number - so foreign private buyers are effectively excluded. Auctions are timed and run seven days by default, with autobidding and a three-minute extension whenever a bid lands in the closing three minutes. Bids are binding; if a reserve price is not reached, Klaravik contacts both sides to try to close the deal and your bid stands for another two working days. The invoice comes from PayEx by email after the auction closes with seven days to pay, and the item must be collected within twelve days of the auction ending, from wherever the seller keeps it anywhere in Sweden.

What to check before you bid

The buyer's premium is set per lot and is only visible once you are logged in, so check it on the item rather than assuming a flat rate. VAT is added to the invoice; exporters with a valid VAT number can reclaim it, but the paperwork - CMR or customs and export declarations plus a bank statement - must reach Klaravik by the 10th of the month after collection, and Swedish plates are removed on export. The terms state that Klaravik carries out no technical inspection: the condition report is the auctioneer's interview-based assessment, machines sell as they stand, and complaints must be raised at the collection site before you take the item away. Loading, dismantling and transport are the buyer's problem unless the listing says otherwise, and storage fees of SEK 500 per started week (bids under SEK 20,000) or SEK 1,000 (above that) start after the twelve-day window. Listings and most of the site are in Swedish, with an English FAQ, international buyers page, terms of purchase and privacy policy translated.
