How the bidding works

Customs sales in France are conducted by the regional directorates and by court-appointed auctioneers acting for them, so the format follows the office rather than a single national platform. The administration's page sets out how the sales work and where they are announced; the individual notice carries the venue, the viewing arrangements and the conditions.

What to check before you bid

Goods seized by customs are sold with the administration's own guarantees and no more — condition, provenance and roadworthiness are yours to establish at the viewing. A vehicle seized at the border may have no French registration history, and regularising that is the buyer's problem. Counterfeit goods are destroyed rather than sold, so the sale lists are the legitimate remainder. The site is in French.
