East Anglian Motor Auctions is a family business founded in 1946 and now in its third generation, working from a purpose-built site at Wymondham since 2006. Its client list is the useful part: alongside blue-chip companies it sells for police forces and public authorities, which is where the more interesting stock comes from.

How the bidding works

The calendar is dense — six or seven distinct sales in a typical month, each with its own start time, from budget cars on a Tuesday lunchtime to plant and HGVs on a Wednesday morning. Vehicles carry a grade from U through 1 to 5, and the search lets you filter by it. Registration is required to bid.

What to check before you bid

The house publishes its buyer's premiums on a dedicated page rather than burying them in terms — read that page before your first sale, because the premium differs by sale type and a budget car's fee is a much larger share of the total. Grades are the auctioneer's own assessment and are the main thing you have if you bid remotely; for anything above budget money, view in person.
