KOMUFA
- Trade buyers only

KOMUFA is a German auction platform for one thing: used municipal vehicles and machinery. It calls itself the digital hub for Kommunalfahrzeuge, and the specialisation is what makes it useful — this equipment normally leaves a council's yard through obscure local channels, and gathering it in one place is a genuine service to anyone who needs a sweeper, a gritter or a refuse body. The platform stresses that stock is mostly first-hand, meaning sold by the authority that operated it rather than through a dealer.
What you can buy
- Municipal vehicles: sweepers, gritting and winter-service vehicles, refuse and utility trucks.
- Municipal machinery: the plant a council or Bauhof runs — mowers, loaders and specialist attachments.
- Green space and outdoor equipment: the grounds-maintenance end of the same fleets.
How the bidding works
You register either as a buyer or as a seller — the platform is built to serve both sides, since its supply comes from municipalities listing directly. Auctions run online, and the interface is available in German and English, which matters because ex-German municipal machinery has a strong export market in central and eastern Europe. There is an FAQ covering the process.
What to check before you bid
Municipal vehicles are usually well maintained and thoroughly documented — councils keep service records — but they are also worked hard and often specified for a task rather than for resale. Check operating hours as well as mileage, and establish what happens to the special equipment: a chassis is one asset, the sweeper or gritter body mounted on it is another, and they do not always transfer together. Registration for road use after a life on municipal plates is not automatic, so confirm what documentation comes with the lot. Contact is info@komufa.de or +49 2583 3003170.
