NV Lussis

NV Lussis M&N is a Belgian auction house at Luikersteenweg 344 in Hasselt, working in Dutch-speaking Limburg, with most goods stored and shown at Hasseltsesteenweg 667 in Tongeren-Borgloon. Stock comes from bankruptcy estates (listings marked "ingevolge faillissement") and court-ordered seizures, alongside ordinary consignments from companies and private sellers, so the mix turns over as each sale opens and closes. Vehicles under judicial seizure are run as an "online gerechtelijke verkoop" and bid on off-site through Auctionline; the other online sales run on the firm's own site, and live public judicial sales are held in its own sale room.

• Furniture and clearances: "meubilair en diverse", a warehouse clean-out of twenty-one lots, and a bankruptcy lot pairing a desk with a DeLonghi coffee machine, an HP printer and an IKEA picture.
• Electronics: Sony PlayStation 3 and 4 and a flat-screen TV inside a seventeen-lot section.
• New retail stock: bicycles and electric scooters listed as new and unused.
• Odd single lots: spirits and champagne, and a ready-to-sail ELAN polyester speedboat shown by appointment.

How the bidding works

Register, confirm by email and wait for approval; accounts are checked on weekdays until 17:00. Sales are timed online auctions split into subdivisions that each close at their own moment, stepping fifteen minutes apart on a Friday evening from 19:00 to 20:00. A bid in the last five minutes pushes that lot back another five, and a proxy "autobod" beats an equal manual bid. Viewing is one fixed slot, usually a Friday from 13:00 to 15:00 at the storage address, with the boat and the crane by appointment. The auctioneer may ask you to prove solvency or lodge a deposit of up to 50% of your bid, returned within five working days if the lot is not awarded to you. Online purchases go by transfer within 72 hours to the firm's KBC third-party account, quoting lot numbers and sale name; lots bought in the room are cash or guaranteed bank cheque only, with foreign buyers paying cash in euros. Collection is between 10:00 and 12:00 against a printed settlement or award email, no email means no goods, and late pickup costs extra. Dates for the public judicial sales in the room are published separately, about once a month.

What to check before you bid

Budget for the fees first: 17% auction costs on the hammer price, plus 21% Belgian VAT on both the costs and the price unless a lot says otherwise. EU businesses can have the VAT lifted once their VAT number is verified, and the invoice has to be requested within 72 hours of the sale closing, since a later request can add EUR 25 excl. VAT. Check the label on the sale as well: B2B lots are aimed at traders with a VAT number, and on JUDICIAL lots you can never claim consumer rights. Everything sells in the state it stands in with no recourse for defects, and mileage, running hours and build years are indicative only, which bites on used catering gear and seized vehicles. Attend the viewing or send someone local; photos are made to best knowledge but rarely show wear, missing parts or a botched disconnection. Arrange removal yourself, because nothing includes transport, careful dismantling is your liability, and ovens, hoods or crane sections need lifting gear. Only the Dutch version of the conditions is legally valid and payment is a euro transfer to a Belgian account, so foreign bidders need translation and a fast SEPA payment.
