Sjællands Bilauktion runs one thing on a fixed rhythm: a car auction every Wednesday at 17:00 on the Danish island of Zealand. It is a traditional saleroom operation — there is a cafeteria on site and a staff page — and the catalogue for the coming Wednesday is published in advance.
What you can buy
- Used cars, the whole of the catalogue.
- Vans and light commercials, when consigned.
How the bidding works
The house is explicit that both professionals and private buyers attend — "alle er velkomne til at komme og byde", everyone is welcome to come and bid. Viewing is open every day the business is open: Monday and Tuesday 9–16, Thursday 10–16, Friday 9–13, with Wednesday given over to the auction itself.
What to check before you bid
The generous viewing schedule is the point of a house like this — four days a week to inspect a car before a Wednesday sale is far more than most auctions allow, and it is where the value of buying here lies. Danish registration for a car bought at auction is a separate step, and the house handles new registration paperwork as a service. The site is in Danish.
