Vandoo

Vandoo is the online auction and sales platform of Volkswagen Gebrauchtfahrzeughandels- und Service GmbH (VGSG), based at Grovestraße 16 in Langenhagen near Hanover and entered in the Hanover commercial register under HRB 210235. It is the marketplace for used Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, bought direct from the manufacturer through what VGSG calls a transparent procurement process. It sells only to commercial resellers - authorised Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles dealers, service partners and importers, plus independent motor traders - so private buyers and firms outside the vehicle trade cannot register.

What you can buy

  • Used Volkswagen commercial vehicles: a large selection of Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, the platform's entire focus.
  • Ex-fleet stock: the terms cover used vehicles out of fleets, sold to VGSG's own sales standard.
  • Fresh offers every week: new listings weekly, so stock can be topped up regularly.
  • Damaged, unrepaired vehicles: these carry an extra repair cost estimate to the VGSG sales standard, given only as a non-binding calculation aid.
  • Fixed-price cars alongside auctions: instant purchases whose price already includes transport to an authorised partner's or importer's premises in Germany.
  • Second wheel sets: shipped separately for a fee of 95 EUR within Germany.

How the bidding works

Registration is free, but before your first bid you must declare and prove that motor vehicle dealing is your trade: VGSG decides what counts, and asks for a trade licence copy, a commercial register extract and the owner's ID, with certified German translations from buyers based abroad. Authorised Volkswagen partners log in through the Group Retail Portal instead. Auctions run online with a bidding phase VGSG sets in advance, and every new bid restarts it. You can bid manually or enter a maximum and let the bidding agent outbid others automatically up to your ceiling; bidders stay fully anonymous during the auction. A bid is a binding offer valid for 48 hours after the auction ends, but it binds only you - the contract exists once VGSG confirms the bid, and VGSG may reject bids without giving a reason. There is no auction surcharge and no hidden costs on top of the price. Registered users get information on current auctions by email, and a newsletter on them can be subscribed during registration. Volkswagen Financial Services supplies dealer finance alongside, from vehicle to corporate financing.

What to check before you bid

VAT is the item to plan for. German buyers are invoiced net plus German VAT at the statutory rate, unless the margin scheme under section 25a applies; EU buyers get a net invoice only after supplying a valid VAT ID and a signed export declaration; buyers outside the EU pay a deposit equal to the VAT rate, refunded once a stamped customs document proves the car left the EU. Payment is in advance and must come from the buying dealer's own business account - third-party transfers are refused and cost you the right to buy on Vandoo. Vehicles are released for immediate on-site collection once the money lands, and you have ten working days from the invoice to fetch them before storage runs at 20 EUR per calendar day. Auction cars are collected at the stated location at your own cost, though authorised partners can pay a surcharge for delivery in Germany. Every vehicle carries a uniform assessment made to VGSG's own sales standard, not an independent inspection, and defect liability - where the offer does not exclude it - ends twelve months after the invoice date and covers neither normal wear nor any fault externally visible at handover, so what you miss on collection is no longer claimable. Listings and terms are in German, and the application is optimised for Mozilla Firefox.
