Veřejné dražby, run by GAUTE, sells a wider range of asset types than most Czech operators — alongside the expected property, cars and machinery it handles receivables, trademarks and company stock. It works through several legal formats rather than one: public auctions (veřejné dražby), tenders (výběrová řízení) and other forms of electronic auction, and it also operates as an estate agency.

How the bidding works

The format decides the rules, so identify it first: a public auction is a regulated procedure with statutory consequences, a tender takes offers and is decided differently, and an ordinary electronic auction is neither. Registration is required, and the operator serves both sides of the transaction — finding sellers as well as buyers.

What to check before you bid

Receivables and trademarks are legal positions, not objects. A trademark carries registration classes, renewal deadlines and any existing licences with it, and buying one without checking the register is a genuine risk. On property, the Czech land register (katastr nemovitostí) is the document that matters. Everything is published in Czech, including the binding auction notices.
