Euro Auctions is one of the largest plant and machinery auctioneers operating in Europe, and the scale is the point: a single Leeds sale runs to well over three thousand lots across four days, with Dormagen, Zaragoza, Dromore and Mountrath each carrying a thousand or more. The permanent sale sites span Northern Ireland, England, the Republic of Ireland, Germany and Spain, with further events in the Middle East and, through its Yoder & Frey arm, the United States.

How the bidding works

Sales are multi-day live events at fixed sites, with online bidding alongside the ring, and each is published with its lot count well in advance. The defining term is that lots are sold unreserved — there is no minimum price protecting the seller, which is why the sales clear and why prices can be unpredictable in both directions.

What to check before you bid

Unreserved means what it says: everything sells, so a quiet ring can produce a bargain and a contested lot can run past retail. Set your limit before the ring reaches you. Check whether buckets and attachments are included in a machine's lot or catalogued separately — with over two thousand attachment lots across the sales, they frequently are separate. Confirm the sale country before bidding: these are five different tax and transport jurisdictions, and a machine at Zaragoza is a different proposition from the same machine at Leeds.
