RESTLOS Industrieverwertungen & Service GmbH has run online liquidation auctions from Puscherstraße 7 in Nuremberg since 2008, adding a second office at Eschborn near Frankfurt in mid-2025. Stock comes from insolvency administrators, plant closures, relocations, fleet renewals and retail chains winding down; consignors run from industrial groups to small firms, banks and leasing companies, and the seller enquiry form takes private owners too. A team of over 40 project managers, appraisers and auction staff runs each job from valuation to clearance and handover. In 2025 it handled over 500 projects and 125,000 lots, at an average reuse rate of 98.1%, and won the Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis 2025.

What you can buy

  • Production machinery: SCHULER and ERFURT press lines, strapping and packaging machines, Kaeser and Atlas Copco compressors, ABB welding cells and workshop fit-outs; much of it insolvency machinery knocked down where it stands, unloaded.
  • Vehicles and material handling: Jungheinrich forklifts, municipal tractors, small cranes, ex-fleet vans and whole company fleets, released as firms renew or close sites.
  • Office and IT: height-adjustable desks, USM Haller and Steelcase furniture, monitors, PCs, laptops and tablets from Siemens, Lenovo, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and Cisco; the Siemens Moorenbrunn clearance alone ran to 1,315 lots.
  • Retail, warehouse and garden stock: surplus inventory, pallet racking, packaging and garden decor; RESTLOS cleared its first real store in 2022 and over 40 followed, and stripped Wöhrl's Nuremberg logistics site in 2018, 16 km of overhead conveyor included.
  • Media and event technology: GrandMA lighting desks, ARRI and Sony camera gear, film and network equipment, plus up to 5,000 pieces of furniture, props and costumes from the SWR studio store in 2024.
  • Property and valuations: RLS Immobilien, the group's property arm, values, sells and lets industrial, commercial and residential real estate; RESTLOS also markets mobile halls and time-limited lettings, and writes qualified appraisals.

How the bidding works

Sales run at auktionen.restlos.com, usually as timed auctions of 7 to 10 days, alongside streamed floor auctions and fixed-price Freiverkauf. Registration is free, but a RESTLOS employee checks and activates each profile by hand once you confirm the email link. Private buyers and companies may both bid, though some sales are flagged trade-only, and a business account must be declared at sign-up. Maximum bids are proxied, lifting you only by the step needed to stay in front. The two published increment ladders disagree: the AGB table stops at €100 steps above €5,000, the FAQ ladder climbs to €5,000 above €100,000. A soft close applies: a bid in the final 30 seconds pushes the deadline back, so end times drift. RESTLOS may demand a part payment before you bid on. Invoices arrive by email, payment is advance bank transfer only, and a collection slip (Abholschein) with a booking link follows once the money clears. Pickup is self-service at the goods' location, in a booked slot within the window named in the auction.

What to check before you bid

Add 18% buyer's premium to the hammer price, then 19% German VAT on both, so a €100 bid invoices at €140.42. Individual auctions may set other terms. VAT applies to the premium even under the margin scheme of § 25a UStG. EU businesses can be zero-rated against a certified VAT ID and must return a signed Gelangensbestätigung; buyers outside the EU pay VAT as a security deposit refunded once export proof is filed, and the CMR consignment note is yours to produce. Everything is used and sold as-is, warranty expressly excluded, and RESTLOS is not obliged to check the previous owner's descriptions, though known defects are flagged – so use the viewing appointment offered for every sale. Dismantling and loading are at your cost and risk, qualified electricians included, and late collection draws storage fees of 0.1% of the total per day. Shipping is the exception and must be agreed first. Listings, terms and support are German, with export notes also in English, Czech and Romanian. Seller fees are quoted per project, not published.
